Congratulations: "Ex-student and friend of LMS, Martin Skarendahl has a number one album in the UK with "The Hoosiers". All of "The Hoosiers" rehearsals and demos were done at London Music School over a two-year period. This resulted in a recording contract with RCA Records, two top 5 singles and a number 1 album.."

The London Music School is one of the finest contemporary music schools in London, and one of the best-known Schools of music in Europe. It is also one of the longest established contemporary music schools in Central London, having been at the forefront of music and audio technology education, sound engineering and audio engineering for over 20 years.
The London Music School, formally MI London (sister school to M.I.LA, The Musicians Institute Hollywood, Los Angeles, arguably the best modern music school in the world) was founded in 1984 and is now the most established modern music school in London. Our premises in the heart of East London, next to the City of London and close to Tower Bridge, makes LMS one of the most central of all the London Music Schools.
At The London Music School we believe that music is a marriage of the technologies of the day, and the heritage of our musical experience and knowledge. We have courses not only for musicians who are seeking an education and a career within the industry but also those people who just love music and want to have fun.
The London Music School welcomes everyone from songwriters and musicians to sound engineers and DJ's. Everyone working in the music business will find that this new technical age provides them with the opportunity to use their creativity in an industry that was formally dominated by artists, performers and record companies.
Music technology courses are designed for anyone who has a genuine interest in music and a basic understanding of computers. These aspects of our courses are often ignored by other music schools. The LMS courses for Vocals, Guitar, Keyboards, Bass, Drums Percussion and Sax place an emphasis on modern techniques including song writing, lyric writing, recording, and arranging. Students along with their chosen instrument also cover all the basic fundamentals; reading, technique and performance. LMS offers all the latest computer software and hardware for writing, recording, and editing music. The London Music School courses are unique, as they combine the art of singing, or playing your instrument, with the advantage of studio recording and basic arranging geared towards the individual’s needs.
LMS has two Pro-Tools recording studios one of which is based at our commercial studios - The London Recording Studios. LRS is situated in Osborn St, the South end of Brick Lane. This studio was formally Trevor Horn's Sarm East Studios, and these premises are steeped in history: Queen's Bohemian Rhapsody was written over a four-day period in the studio; Madonna, Grace Jones and Frankie Goes To Hollywood have all recorded there. It’s a great place to start recording!
Our professional teachers have collectively worked with Led Zeppelin, Rod Stewart, Oasis, Steve Howe, Joss Stone, Portishead, Morcheba, Tori Amos, Prodigy, Marty Pello, Kiki Dee, Dave Stewart, Kylie Minogue, Eric Clapton, Sam & Dave, Michael Jackson, Stevie Wonder, Buena vista Social Club, Daryl Hall and John Oates, Gary Moore, Andrew Lloyd Webber, The London Symphony Orchestra, and many more..
